Carol Lynley
Carol Lynley (born February 13, 1942 in New York - † September 3, 2019 in Pacific Palisades , California ; real name Carole Ann Jones ) was an American actress .
Life
Carol Lynley worked in the film business as well as a model as a teenager ; she appeared in an episode of the 1950s television show Alfred Hitchcock Presents as a murderous high school student. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress in 1959 and 1960 for her achievements in the films The Misunderstood and The Heart of an Indian . She became famous in the 1960s as Missy at the side of Rock Hudson and Kirk Douglas in Robert Aldrich's El Perdido and through the female lead roles in two films by Otto Preminger : The Cardinal and Bunny Lake Has Disappeared . In Germany she was best known as the singer Nonnie Parry in the disaster film Die Höllenfahrt der Poseidon (1972) and as sole heiress Annabell in the horror grotesque The Cat and the Canary (1979).
On television she took on guest roles in series such as Solo for ONCEL , The Little Vagabond , Your Appearance, Al Mundy , Kojak - Einsatz in Manhattan , Drei Engel für Charlie , Love Boat , Fantasy Island and The Incredible Stories of Roald Dahl . By 2006 Lynley was in front of the camera for a total of more than 100 film and television productions, where she played both friendly and sympathetic and often threatening characters in the course of her career.
In 1960 she married the publicist Michael Selsman; The daughter Jill came out of the divorce in 1964. In March 1965 she was photographed for Playboy , which caused a minor scandal. She was in a relationship with TV presenter David Frost for a total of 18 years, with a few interruptions . Carol Lynley died of a heart attack in September 2019 at the age of 77 .
