action

The American Ann Lake comes to London with her four-year-old daughter Bunny to visit her brother Stephen. Stephen works here as a journalist. Before she even meets Stephen, Ann puts her illegitimate daughter in a kindergarten . There she only gets to know the cook. When she wants to pick up Bunny again, there is no trace of the child. The cook is also no longer employed in the kindergarten. Nobody on the staff has ever seen or heard of Bunny. Desperate, the mother turns to the police. Inspector Newhouse takes on the mysterious case. Even in Ann's apartment there is no trace of the child to be found. Ann's brother Stephen is concerned about his sister's state of mind. He can still remember that as a child, his sister also called her imaginary playmate Bunny. When Ann finds a receipt for a doll repair shop, however, she believes she's getting her daughter back on track. She drives to the workshop and finds Bunny's doll. Now she thinks she has evidence of her daughter's existence in her hands. But before she can inform the police, her brother Stephen knocks her down. Stephen burns the doll and takes Ann to a hospital. When Ann escapes from the hospital, she witnesses Stephen taking the unconscious Bunny out of the trunk of his car. She needs to realize that she is not the psychopath in the family, but her brother. With stories from their childhood together and children's games, she can keep Stephen under control until the police finally arrive and arrest Stephen.
