Megs Jenkins

Megs Jenkins (born April 21, 1917 in Birkenhead , Cheshire , England , † October 5, 1998 in Suffolk , England as Muguette Mary Jenkins ) was a British actress .

Career

Jenkins, who originally wanted to train as a ballet dancer, made her film debut in The Silent Battle in 1939 and then appeared in films such as Green for Danger (1946), The Great Atlantic (1953), Tiger Bay (1959) and Oliver (1968) ) on. She had great success in 1958 on the side of Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant in Indiscreet and in 1964 as Gladys Thomas on the side of Margaret Rutherford in the Agatha Christie classic Four Women and a Murder . In 1979/1980 she appeared in five episodes of the children's series Worzel Gummidge as Mrs. Braithwhaite and most recently in 1990 as a guest star in the series Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh .

Jenkins was married to George Routledge from 1943 to 1959. The marriage ended in divorce.

Prizes and awards

In 1956 she won the Clarence Derwent Award for her performance in the Arthur Miller -Stück A View from the Bridge .
