Scottish Church College
Founded in 1830, Scottish Church College in Kolkata is the oldest Church-sponsored academic college in India . In collaboration with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education , the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and the University of Kolkata , she awards diplomas and organizes post-graduate studies.
It is known for its beautiful campus, intellectual environment and Palladian architecture . The students and graduates call themselves Caledonians . The university's motto is: Nec Tamen Consumebatur , which means "burning but not consumed".

- Chandramukhi Basu (1860-1944), one of the first two female university graduates in the British Empire and first female director of Bethune College in Kolkata
