A woman sees red is a rape drama starring Margaux Hemingway from 1976. The film premiered on October 8, 1976 in Germany.

action

Gordon Stuart, the new music teacher at a Catholic school, wants to get into the music business with his sounds made by nature noises and synthesizers . The chance opens up through his student's sister, Kathy McCormick. During a photo shoot for a lipstick , he met her, model Chris McCormick, and played a test tape for her at a meeting in her apartment . Chris is not very fond of the music and thanks to a phone call, takes refuge in the next room. Driven by disappointment, Gordon rapes her afterwards, and some of her furniture is broken. When her sister discovers them both, he breaks off and disappears. Kathy first thinks that her sister started something with her music teacher. Because of this misunderstanding, the sisters informed the police much later, which will have fatal consequences in court. Contrary to the advice of her friend Steve, she reports Gordon and he is arrested . Prosecutor Bondi has little hope that Stuart will be convicted, which happens in court because of his shrewd attorney after he has intimidated Kathy and Chris enormously. In addition, Stuart portrays a completely different version and takes the victim's modeling activity as an excuse to expose them. He is then acquitted by the jury .

While Chris has decided to stop modeling and take her last photos, the accompanying Kathy explores the other rooms of the studio building . In the process, she discovers the dismissed Gordon Stuart with former students in a rehearsal dance hall, where he tries out his experimental music. After the girls leave, he discovers Kathy and tries to seduce her. Kathy flees from him, but is caught by him in a remote tunnel and severely abused . As she drags herself back to her sister, Chris falls into a fit of anger and accidentally spots Gordon in the parking lot . Frantically she runs downstairs, takes her rifle out of the car and shoots the fugitive in his vehicle, who overturns. When he gets out, he is hit by her again and dies.

In court , Carla Bondi takes over her defense and obtains an acquittal .

Reviews

“A bold film designed for cheap emotions that exploits the subject of sexual violence against women for a handful of bad thriller effects. Noteworthy at most because of the acting debut of the then teenager Mariel Hemingway, who plays her older sister, the photo model Margaux, flush against the wall in every scene. "

"Mendacious vigilante drama."
