Chris Sarandon
Chris Sarandon (born July 24, 1942 in Beckley , West Virginia ; as Christopher Sarandon) is an American actor .
Life and accomplishments
The son of a Greek restaurant owner appeared in a musical as a teenager. He also played with the band The Teen Tones . In 1960 he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School , then studied at West Virginia University and appeared in other musicals. He graduated from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a degree in theater arts.
Sarandon appeared in the television series Springfield Story between 1969 and 1973 . In the thriller Dog Days by Sidney Lumet , he starred alongside Al Pacino . For this role he was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award for Best Newcomer in 1976 .
In the comedy Protocol (1984), Sarandon played the role of Michael Ransome , who marries Sunny Davis ( Goldie Hawn ). For his role in the horror comedy Die ravenenschwarze Nacht - Fright Night (1985) he was nominated for the Saturn Award in 1986. In the 2011 remake he made a cameo as "Jay Dee".
Chris Sarandon was married to Susan Sarandon from 1967 to 1979 , whom he met while studying at the Catholic University of America . In 1980 he married Lisa Cooper, with whom he has three children. He has been married to actress Joanna Gleason since 1994 .
