Joanna Gleason

Joanna Gleason (born June 2, 1950 in Winnipeg , Manitoba as Joanna Hall ) is a Canadian actress who was successful as an actress in film and television, but especially in the theater scene.

Career

Her biggest success was winning the Tony Awards as Best Actress in a Musical for the role of the wife of the baker in the famous Stephen Sondheim -Musical Into the Woods (German: From the forest ) in 1988. She was nominated again in 2005, this Time for her supporting role as Muriel in David Yazbeks (known for his all or nothing musical The Full Monty ) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels , a musical comedy based on the film of the same name with Steve Martin among others .
