action

Detroit police investigator Tony Costas is seen as someone who breaks the rules of the game. In the very first scene he takes part in a car race. When stopped by a police officer and a female police officer, he says the race is part of a police operation on which he is collaborating with the FBI . He then has the policewoman's private telephone number given.

The police officer Fujitsuka Natsuo, who works in Tokyo , is responsible for industrial espionage. He follows an engineer to Detroit who had stolen plans for a car engine and a prototype of an engine part with him. The items are to be sold to a competing company for $ 10 million.

The engineer is killed by a gang of gangsters. When the gangsters want to dispose of his body in a junkyard, they kill the guard working there, a former police officer whom Costas knew well.

Natsuo searches the hotel room of the killed engineer, and Costas arrests him by mistake. Costas is instructed to work with his Japanese colleague Natsuo. The cooperation between Costas and Natsuo is problematic at first, later they become a well-rehearsed team. They fight the gangsters who shoot them and hurt Costas. Natsuo throws himself on the windshield of the car racing towards the investigators and kicks the driver harmless. The car collides with an obstacle and explodes.

Costas says goodbye to the departing Natsuo and gives him the stolen prototype as a parting present. He says there is no use of Japanese scrap in the US .

Reviews

Jack Sommersby wrote on efilmcritic.com that Pat Morita and Jay Leno would appear " weird " in the film . They would these " sloppy " ( " slapdash ") action comedy " amusing do" when they have earned it.

At The Unknown Movies , the portrayals of Jay Leno and Pat Morita were criticized. One could not believe that the actors would show humor and arouse sympathy on other occasions. The character of Fujitsuka Natsuo shows the stereotypical ideas about the Japanese. The film also has racist traits.
