Ira Newborn
James Ira Newborn (born December 26, 1949 in New York City ) is an American film composer.
One of his best-known works is the score for the Nackte Kanone films. He had already composed the music for the television series The Naked Pistol , the forerunner of the films. He started his career playing music for the film Every Night Counts . Before that he worked as a music supervisor at Blues Brothers .
In 1992 and 1995 he received the ASCAP Award for his work.
Since 2000, Newborn has largely withdrawn from the film business and teaches film scoring at New York University.
