Jason Reitman
Jason Reitman (born October 19, 1977 in Montreal ) is a Canadian film director , screenwriter and film producer .
life and career
Ivan Reitman's son gained his first experience in the film business with small roles in his father's films. Jason Reitman attended Harvard-Westlake School and the University of Southern California . In 1998 he made his first short film, Operation . The award-winning short films In God We Trust (2000) and Consent (2004) followed later .
In 2005 Reitman made his feature film debut with Thank You for Smoking . The satire earned him the National Board of Review's Best Directorial Debut award in 2006 . In 2007, the drama he directed Juno with Ellen Page and Jennifer Garner in the leading roles was released, for which he was nominated for an Oscar in the category of best director .
Reitman's third feature film, Up in the Air , premiered in September 2009 at the Toronto Film Festival . The tragic comedy about a staunch single and airline miles collector (played by George Clooney ), who is employed as a successful employee of a consulting firm, was awarded the 2009 National Board of Review award. Reitman and co- writer Sheldon Turner also received the Golden Globe Award and the British Academy Film Award for the script . Reitman has also received Oscar nominations in the categories of film , directing, and adapted screenplay .
