action

The action takes place in 1997; the death of Princess Diana and the construction of the Millennium Cathedral are shown as events taking place in the background . The widower Gideon Warner is a public relations consultant . He has a bad relationship with his daughter Natasha, who wants to study in Edinburgh so that she can live far away from her father.

Warner meets Stella, who recently lost her son. Stella's ex-husband accuses one of Warner's customers, a politician, of being guilty of his son's death. Gideon and Stella get closer and become a couple.

Reviews

The editors of All Media Guide wrote that the film should complement the 2005 drama Friends & Crocodiles by the same director. He is " sensitive " and " moving ".

Bill Nighy for Best Actor - Mini-Series or TV Movie and Emily Blunt for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie won the 2007 Golden Globe Award .

Bill Nighy won the Satellite Award in 2006 , and Miranda Richardson and Best TV Feature were nominated for the same award. The song Natasha's Song was nominated for an Emmy . The film won the Peabody Award in 2007 .
