Clare Douglas

Clare Douglas (born February 21, 1944 in Ipswich , † July 9, 2017 in France ) was a British film editor .

Life

Douglas studied English and Drama at Bristol University .

Douglas began working as an editor in the film business in the early 1970s. Until the 2000s she worked almost without exception for various television productions, including several mini-series and television films.

She was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award in 2003 for her montage of Bloody Sunday . She had already been nominated for this award in 1980 and 1983, and another nomination followed in 2004.

Her greatest success and probably best-known film is Flight 93 from 2006. For this film, she was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing together with her colleagues Richard Pearson and Christopher Rouse . They also received the BAFTA Award for Best Editing and an Online Film Critics Society Award .
