Nicholas Hytner
Sir Nicholas Robert Hytner (born May 7, 1956 in Manchester , England ) is a British theater and film director .
Life
Nicholas Hytner studied English at Trinity Hall in Cambridge . After completing his studies, he turned to the theater as a director. In 1989 he received his first prize for his work, the London Evening Standard Theater Award and the London Critics' Circle Theater Award for Miss Saigon and Ghetto . In 1993 Hytner received the Laurence Olivier Theater Award for Carousel . After he was nominated for a Tony Award in 1991 , he received it in 1994 for his musical implementation by Carousel . Since September 2003, Nicolas Hytner has been director of the National Theater in London. He received his second Tony Award in 2006 for The History Boys . Hytner was knighted as a Knight Bachelor in 2010 .
