American Horror Story: Apocalypse is the eighth season of American Horror - television series American Horror Story , based on an idea by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk based. The first broadcast took place between September 12 and November 14, 2018 on the TV channel FX . The German-language first broadcast ran from November 15, 2018 to January 17, 2019 on FOX .
It is the first in-depth crossover from two seasons of the series, Murder House and Coven . In addition to many characters from these two stories, new characters were also created. The plot takes place between 2015 and 2024, but also digresses into other time levels. The central theme is the end of the modern world, the biblical apocalypse . Apocalypse highlights the literal Antichrist's quest to eradicate humanity, the role of a group of witches and warlocks, and other elements of the story of the Harmon family estate known as Murder House . Apocalypse also contains cross-references to Asylum , Hotel , Roanoke and Cult .

| The billionaire daughter Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt is sitting with her personal assistant Mallory at her hairdresser Mr. Gallant in Santa Monica , when suddenly everyone receives a disaster alert via smartphone app . Then Coco's father answers with a voice call and implores that the alarm is real, that nuclear missiles would hit in about an hour . He would be in Hong Kong with his wife and son if he couldn't make it home from there and four places would be reserved for the family in a shelter. The media are now also reporting bad news and both Hong Kong and London or Moscow have already been destroyed. When panic quickly breaks out, Coco and her chauffeur, Mallory, Mr. Gallant and his grandmother Evie flee in the direction of an airport. After the chauffeur has shot several employees of the airport who want to hijack the plane, he is killed by one of them, but the other four can save themselves and fly off. In front of Coco's friend Brock, who didn't make it in time and curses the blonde. High above the city, passengers notice that the aircraft is flying completely on autopilot . The shock is even greater when they watch the rocket impacts outside.
About 40 minutes before the impact, you can see the Campbell family, who are delighted that the older son has been admitted to study at UCLA . But the joy is clouded when they too learn of the impending catastrophe through television. Suddenly a military-looking group stands in front of the house, who wants to take the prospective student, Timothy, with them because of his "superior DNA", which determined him to survive. With a heavy heart his family lets him go and he is taken to a bunker where he meets another prisoner, Emily, who was abducted for the same reason as him. Two weeks later, the two of them are taken to another bunker in the middle of the contaminated wasteland, to which they have to cover the last part in radiation protection suits. Figures in leather coats and gas masks patrol the site. Once inside, an elegant lady named Wilhemina Venable greets them in Outpost 3 . It seems safe there, but there is no electricity. She describes herself as "the face of the cooperative ", whereby the cooperative would be a mysterious association of rich and intelligent backers whose goal is the preservation of the human race after the nuclear catastrophe. Emily and Timothy are forbidden to have sex, but they are also made clear that they belong to the Purples , an elite who wear purple and are at the top because of their superior DNA. The Grays (such as the bodyguard The Fist, who is over 2 meters tall ), on the other hand, wear gray and are on the lowest level of Outpost 3 - they thankfully serve the genetically superior. Generally everyone is dressed in a style reminiscent of the Victorian era . At the first dinner, Timothy and Emily meet Coco, Mallory, Mr. Gallant and Evie as well as the gay couple Stu and Andre and Andre’s mother, the talk show host Dinah Stevens. The “food” here consists of jelly-like cubes, which, according to Ms. Venable, would contain all the vitamins the body needs. While Gallant has to sacrifice various layers of skin and is found to be "clean", Stu is still "dirty" after disinfection and is shot by Ms. Mead. Miriam tells Wilhemina that she has "killing in her DNA", and that her father had destroyed countless opponents in the Vietnam War . When Mead and Venable finally serve Stu as a special supper and the residents find out what they are eating, the mood changes. When a new song is played on the radio, the text of which gives hope for the arrival of the Cooperative , the group draws new hope. But in vain, 18 months later nothing has changed. Finally, a man named Michael Langdon, also an employee of the Cooperative , comes to Outpost 3 , who assures Wilhemina that he has found a safer and better bunker than this one. He could take everyone with him or nobody, whoever wasn't taken with him would end up like the horses with which he had arrived. Meanwhile, Ms. Mead slaughtered them outdoors because they were apparently exposed to too much radiation. |

| Emily opens her closet and is frightened by several snakes. Ms. Mead saves them, kills the snakes, and then serves them to the residents to eat. The meal comes to an abrupt end when suddenly a living snake crawls out of the soup pot. Then Michael Langdon appears again and once again points out the reason for his presence. The other three outposts were completely overrun, and six bunkers abroad would have been the same. With the help of individual interviews with those present, he would be able to find out who would be suitable to travel with him to the Sanctuary , a robbery-proof bunker of the Cooperative . Mr. Gallant volunteers and the interview begins. After admitting his homosexuality to the long-haired intruder, he also reveals that he hates his grandmother, Evie. She would never have accepted him as a person and would have tried to ridicule him several times in front of other gays.
Meanwhile, Emily and Timothy get closer, while the girl reveals a plan to escape and make her way to the sanctuary . Mr. Gallant also becomes intimate, but with a stranger - the so-called Rubber Man , a ghostly figure in a latex suit, which Gallant mistakenly thinks is Langdon, whom he had already revealed in the previous conversation that he was hot. But Evie watches her grandson with disgust and betrays him to Wilhemina. The Rubber Man, on the other hand, observes the two teenagers in love from the ceiling of Langdon's room, who tamper with his laptop and discover that, on the one hand, it can write e-mails despite the collapsed infrastructure and, on the other hand, reports on the rules Ms. Venables set himself . Michael Langdon then frees him and replies to Gallant to the compliments on the lovemaking that he would not be the man in the suit and would not even have sex with him if he were the last man in the world. Tim and Emily sleep together for the first time and again they are watched by the Rubber Man . Ms. Mead promptly steps into the room and pulls them away. Mr. Gallant and the latex man want to know again, but this time the hairdresser stabs his bed games obsessively, still believing he is Langdon. He appears in the room, as if called, and when Gallant turns his gaze to the bed, his grandma is suddenly lying there. Although he wished her death because of their betrayal and subsequent hateful confessions, the shock runs deep. Tim evades punishment by overpowering one of Mead's henchmen, draws his weapon and shoots her once. Ms. Mead escapes the room in pain. But instead of human blood, only a yellowish liquid emerges from her wound, instead of bones and flesh you can only see wires. |

| Michael continues with the interviews. He informs the two teenagers that he has settled the matter with Wilhemina and Miriam. He's spinning the story with Gallant, whose grandmother would have died peacefully in her sleep. He wants to know from Mallory who she really is and whether she knows her own depths. When she feels too pressured, she pushes him away with a kind of shock wave, which causes Langdon to briefly show Mallory in his true form, that of a demon . In response, Mallory, apparently equipped with telekinetic skills, lets flames lick the fireplace behind the man. Following this, Langdon seeks advice from his “father” in the midst of a pentagram and bleeding from self-inflicted wounds to guide him. Apparently he intended to “kill them all”, but “one” would have survived. Mead tells Wilhemina, who knows that she is a cyborg , about her programmed memories. As a "child" she would have dressed up as Rosie , the robot from the cartoon series The Jetsons , for Halloween. A few years later, again on Halloween, she saw Rosemary's baby for the first time . And again on October 31, as an agent of the Mossad , she would have committed her first murder. She fears that she will not be taken to the sanctuary and Wilhemina has already been informed that she will have to stay in Outpost 3 until her death . The two decide to get rid of their annoying competitors.
In the wasteland near the bunker, Brock, who survived the fallout - but suffers from cancer, growths, hair loss and radiation sickness - suddenly appears and fends off the attack by some cannibals. When an abandoned carriage comes by out of nowhere, he straps himself to the floor and drives directly to Outpost 3 . There the alarm goes off and Ms. Mead and The Fist go to see. They recover a box full of ripe apples from the coach, which apparently comes from the cooperative . While The Fist is supposed to take care of the horses, Mead and her partner make the decision to poison the apples and give them away to the residents as part of a Halloween party. Brock stabs the bodyguard from behind and uses her access card to get into the bunker. There Venable announces that it will be celebrating a masked ball for Halloween. Coco thinks the celebration could serve to announce the “winners” in the race for places in the sanctuary . While Gallant tends to her hairstyle, she mocks Mallory. The ridicule gets worse when she tells of her powers but cannot demonstrate in front of the other two. At the party, a fully masked, tall man dances with Coco who thinks it's Langdon. She offers him to go to her room to get a Rim job . When she is about to get started, Brock unmasked and stabs his ex in the skull after their hypocritical expressions of sympathy. The remaining residents all collapse under the eyes of Wilhemina and Miriam with convulsions and vomiting after they have ingested the apples prepared with snake venom. Then they want to take care of Langdon, who smells the roast and soothes Venable that she would be perfect for the new bunker. Venable tries to get the cyborg to shoot the man, but Langdon uses his powers to steer the gun at Venable, and Venable finally catches a bullet herself. Langdon explains to Miriam that she was modeled on someone very important to him from his childhood and that she was the only "woman" who would have ever understood him. The three witches Cordelia, Madison and Myrtle suddenly arrive in the bunker and bring them back to life alongside their "sisters" Coco, Dinah and Mallory. The latter seems shocked when Madison turns to the "slut" who thought she was "last seen". |

| Michael Langdon tells Ms. Mead the story of the real Miriam Mead, a satanist who had taken him under her wing and after whose model the cyborg was designed. In another area of Outpost 3 , the three witches, Mallory and Coco, explain that they have been given protective charms to block the memories of their true personalities. Langdon appears and declares war on the witches.
Three years before the nuclear disaster is in Outpost 3 nor the Hawthorne School for Exceptional Young Men ( Hawthorne School for exceptional young men ), which is run by the warlocks Behold Chablis, John Henry Moore, Ariel Augustus Baldwin Pennypacker. The men get a video that shows a young Michael Langdon during an interrogation who, apparently only with the power of his thoughts, cruelly executes the sadistic detective. Ariel sees him as a potential alpha master , whereas Moore only assumes a demon infestation. Ariel frees Michael, who uses telekinetic skills to stab a butcher who had insulted his foster mother Miriam, and drives him to Hawthorne School . There he should prove himself in three tests after just one month. First he effortlessly retrieves a book from a mirror, then he escapes Pennypacker's attacks by teleportation and finally he transforms the water molecules in the room into snowflakes. All the sorcerers are impressed and although they almost froze to death in the middle of the cold, they sense the chance of an alpha master with whose help they could finally compete with the female witches. This is reported to the witches Cordelia, Myrtle and Zoe, who then make their way to school. Cordelia is supposed to subject Langdon to the so-called test of the seven miracles in order to prove the true extent of his powers, but she refuses and points to the death of one of her young colleagues, Misty Day, during this test. The warlocks counter Cordelia's failure when they tried to rescue the witch Queenie from the clutches of John Patrick March at the Hotel Cortez . In principle, however, the hotel is just a version of Hell, in which the dead Queenie is doomed forever to play Gin Rummy with March . But Langdon actually manages to break the demonic barriers and bring Queenie back from the underworld. | Cordelia faints at Hawthorne School after having a nightmare. In it, she is surrounded by fog in the rubble of the destroyed Miss Robichaux's Academy and is bitten to death by zombies while a man with a demonic, white face looks on with a laugh. Cordelia interprets the nightmare as a dark vision for which she would like to be prepared, which is why she finally agrees to let Langdon complete the test of the seven wonders . While preparing for the test, Myrtle pledges Cordelia to postpone it temporarily. However, they are interrupted by Mallory, who announces the arrival of Coco, whose father the academy generously donates. During the journey, he stops at a self-service petrol station, where Miriam Mead also arrives a short time later. With the help of a diversionary maneuver, she can cut the man's Achilles heels and throat. Then she doused him with gasoline and set him on fire. She meets with Langdon and tells him about her deed, which she committed so that no one gets in the way of Langdon's plan to usurp world domination. Langdon eventually takes the test of the seven wonders . In the format of a silent film , it is shown how Langdon brilliantly demonstrates the accomplishment of the first six miracles. Cordelia demands that Langdon bring the witch Misty Day back to life from her personal hell while performing the final miracle, the Descensum . There she is condemned to forever dissect frogs in a classroom , which she brings back to life again and again in tears under loud protests from the teacher. The warlocks object because the demand exceeds the actual claims. Ariel asks Cordelia to have a private chat, after which a heated discussion breaks out between the two. Langdon steps in and accepts Cordelia's request. In the end, Langdon actually succeeds in bringing Misty Day back into this world. Amid the joy of seeing Misty Day again, Cordelia suddenly begins to bleed from her nose, as a result of her dwindling power as Colonel. Before Cordelia can say out loud that Langdon is the next Colonel, she faints. She recovers quickly and is made aware by Misty Day that something is wrong with Langdon. Stevie Nicks appears and sings a song dedicated to Misty. Cordelia uses the distraction as a chance to assign Madison to find out all about Langdon. Behold listens to the conversation, but instead of betraying her, he wants to accompany Madison, as he too has a bad feeling about Langdon. | Madison and Behold enter as a newlywed couple and buy the Langdon house. Inside, where 36 people had died over the years, they immediately perceive the presence of paranormal activity. With the help of a spell, they manage to make otherwise invisible spirits of the deceased visible. So they meet the ghosts of Tate Langdon and Dr. Ben Harmon. Tate and Ben are still having therapeutic conversations, Tate's main problem is that Ben's daughter Violet, whom he desires, is ignoring him. Behold and Madison reveal to them their true motives to find out as much as possible about Michael Langdon's origins. Tate warns the two of them to leave the house as soon as possible. As if to confirm, Madison is attacked by a deformed boy, Tate's brother Beauregard, but is saved by medium Billie Dean Howard. This claims to be one of the few people who can enter and leave the house at will and communicate with the souls inside. | The voodoo priestess Dinah Stevens can be seen ripping out a woman's heart as part of a ritual. This brings her to a betrayed wife, whom she paid for because the deceased cheated on her husband. | Michael arrives at the site of the burns. Touching the corpses reveals their identities to him. Deeply affected by the death of his foster mother Miriam, Cordelia disturbs his grief. The two young men have long been rich, have regular sex with Victoria's Secret models and are always supplied with enough cocaine by their personal assistant Wilhemina Venable. | Jeff and Mutt go out about the stupidity of the people in the world. Their urge to destroy the earth is growing and so they come up with the plan to provoke a nuclear catastrophe. As members of the "Cooperatives", a league of the rich and powerful, military commanders and heads of state, they feel that they are well prepared for the post-apocalypse by building underground shelters. Meanwhile, Michael, driven by revenge, goes to the house of the witches' coven. Voodoo priestess Dinah is with him and with the help of her magical powers she can remove the protective spell that surrounds the house, so that Michael and Mead can get inside. Since Dinah only depends on the most lucrative consideration possible, she is now also working against the witches, as Michael had promised her a 13-part talk show on television after selling her soul to his "father".
In the house, Mead uses a machine gun attachment in one of her arms to kill Zoe, Queenie, Bubbles and all the other young witches. But the really important targets - Cordelia, Myrtle, Madison, Coco and Mallory - can escape from the house. When Michael is angry about this fact, Jeff and Mutt sense their chance. The surviving witches have retired to a hut in the swamps of Louisiana that belongs to their mate Misty Day. Cordelia tries to bring Zoe and Queenie back into this world, but she doesn't succeed. Madison informs her that Langdon has the power to wipe out the souls of the deceased and thus make resuscitation impossible. Cordelia is furious, but is interrupted by Myrtle, who still has an idea. With the help of a journey through time, a very strong witch, in this case Mallory, could succeed in preventing the witches' death. However, this endeavor would be very dangerous and there would be the possibility that the time traveler would not be able to return. Then she tells the story of the tsarist family around Nicholas II of Russia . In July 1918, the family was under house arrest and taken to the cellar of the Ipatiev house in Yekaterinburg and murdered by Bolshevik soldiers. The youngest daughter, Anastasia , would have been a witch and would have tried in vain to use her magical powers to prevent the massacre. Mallory manages to travel back in time and help Anastasia. But the soldiers' bullets can only be held back for a short time and everyone present dies. Mallory returns badly drawn and Cordelia suspects that through her death Mallory could finally become even stronger and ultimately bring her sisters back. Despite everything, they travel to California to consult the remaining warlocks Behold and John Henry. In the bunker, however, they make a gruesome discovery. 2017
Myrtle easily infiltrates Jeff and Mutt's lab facility using their skills and surprises the two men as they are preparing an occupancy list for their three outposts. Myrtle forced her to reserve seats for Coco and her family at Outpost 3 . Back at Misty's hut, Coco and Mallory are being prepared for their upcoming tasks. So the presence of Coco's family in Outpost 3 is supposed to ensure Mallory's survival in order to stop Michael. Coco and Mallory are given an identity spell, which makes them forget that they are witches and that Michael should not reveal their true identities either. From then on, Coco is back in the role of the spoiled billionaire's daughter with Mallory as personal assistant. Her Uber chauffeur Madison, whom they no longer know, drives them to Gallant's hairdressing salon, where Coco also meets her future boyfriend Brock. Outside the salon, Madison sees an advertisement for Dinah's new talk show on a bus. She informs Myrtle and Cordelia, but the leader of the witches does not want Michael to unnecessarily draw attention to the circle through any acts of revenge against Dinah. 2021 The three witches survive, buried underground, the bombs. When he was thrown out of his grandmother Constance's house after the murder of a priest, Mallory hit him with her car and then ran him over several times. Constance observes the scene and goes briefly to her seriously injured grandson. But in the end she turns away and the boy dies on the side of the road of his injuries. FX Network ordered the eighth season on January 12, 2017, and filming began around June 16, 2018. In June 2018, series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that Apocalypse (the title was announced about a month later) would be set in October 2019 and a crossover of the Coven and Murder House seasons , as well as characters from those seasons. As early as April 2018 it became known that both Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters were to direct one episode each. However, only Paulson made her directorial debut.
