Mark Ivanir ( Hebrew מארק איווניר; * September 6, 1968 in Chernivtsi , Ukrainian Soviet Republic , Soviet Union ) is an Israeli actor and voice actor .

Life

Born in Ukraine, Mark Ivanir emigrated to Israel with his family in 1972 , where he grew up near the city of Bnei Berak . After his military service he studied clowning in Paris and performed in the Cirque Pauwels . He then studied acting at Nissan Nativ , before he played for several years in the Cameri Theater and the Gesher Theater , as well as touring with theater groups. He showed a greater variety of roles as he spoke both Russian, Hebrew and English. He also toured England with his Gesher Theater , which he co-founded, and played in London . After being cast on the war drama Schindler's List , he moved entirely to London, where he studied acting at Theater De Complicite and continued to play theater. He has lived in Los Angeles since 2001 and starred in films such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith , The Good Shepherd and Johnny English - Now all the more! With.

In 2010 he received a nomination for Best Actor for the Israeli film prize Ophir Award for his role in the tragic comedy Die Reise des Personalmanager (Personnel Manager's Journey) .
