Cody Fern

Cody Fern (born 1988 in Southern Cross , Western Australia ) is an Australian actor . He became known through the television series American Crime Story and American Horror Story .

Life

Cody Fern was born in Southern Cross in rural Western Australia. He attended boarding school at Merredin Senior High School and graduated from Curtin University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Commerce and an Honors Degree . He then turned down an internship at Ernst & Young and instead took a nine-month acting course.

Fern gained his first experience with roles in plays such as Romeo in the Shakespeare WA production of Romeo and Juliet in 2011 , as Lindsay in Jandamarra for the Black Swan Theater Company or as the Earl of Southampton in the world premiere of The Enchanters at the State Theater of Western Australia, as well as in a number of short films such as The Last Time I Saw Richard (2014), which won the AACTA Award . In 2013 he played the leading role of Albert Narracott in the play Companions . A year later, Fern became the winner of the Heath Ledger Scholarship from the non-profit Australians in Film.

His television debut in 2018 as a remote David Madson in the second season of FX - anthology series American Crime Story . He was later cast for the Apocalypse season of the horror anthology series American Horror Story , in which he portrayed the antichrist Michael Langdon. In the final season of House of Cards he will play the role of Duncan Shepherd.
