Montsalès ( Occitan Montsalés ) is a French commune with 330 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Villeneuvois et Villefranchois (until 2015 Villeneuve ). The inhabitants are called Montsalesiens .

geography

Montsalès is about 55 kilometers west-northwest of Rodez . Montsalès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Balaguier-d'Olt in the north, Foissac in the east and northeast, Villeneuve in the south and east, Ols-et-Rinhodes in the south and Ambeyrac in the west.
