Colombiès ( Occitan : Colombièrs ) is a French commune of the department of Aveyron with 903 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region Occitania (before 2016 Midi-Pyrenees ). Administratively it is assigned to the canton of Ceor-Ségala (until 2015 Baraqueville-Sauveterre ) and the Arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue (until 2017 Rodez ). The inhabitants are called Colombiègeois .

geography

Colombiès is located in one of the southwestern foothills of the Massif Central on the Plateau Ségala in the historic province of Rouergue about 16 kilometers west of Rodez on the Aveyron , which borders the municipality in the north. Colombiès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Belcastel in the north, Mayran in the north and north-east, Moyrazès in the east, Boussac in the south-east, Castanet in the south, Rieupeyroux in the west and south-west, Prévinquières in the west and north-west and Rignac in the north-west.
