Calmont (also called Calmont-de-Plancatge ) is a French commune with 2053 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . It belongs administratively to the arrondissement Villefranche-de-Rouergue and is the second largest place in the canton of Monts du Réquistanais in terms of population.

geography

The community is located around 45 kilometers northeast of Albi and twelve kilometers southwest of Rodez . Neighboring municipalities are Luc-la-Primaube in the north, Flavin in the northeast, Comps-la-Grand-Ville in the southeast, Sainte-Juliette-sur-Viaur in the south, Manhac in the west and Baraqueville in the northwest.

The Viaur runs along the eastern border of the municipality and its tributary Nauze runs along the western boundary .

Transport links

The place is away from national traffic connections. In the far north, the national road N88 and the departmental road D888 cross the municipality. The D902 runs in the Viaur valley. The Cassagnes-Beghonès airfield is around eight kilometers to the south .
