Savignac ( Occitan Savinhac ) is a French commune with 721 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Villeneuvois et Villefranchois (until 2015 Villefranche-de-Rouergue ). The inhabitants are called Savignacois .

geography

Savignac is about forty kilometers west of Rodez . Savignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Martiel in the north and west, Sainte-Croix in the north and northeast, Toulonjac in the northeast, Villefranche-de-Rouergue in the east, La Rouquette in the south and Vailhourles in the southwest.
