Capdenac-Gare is a French commune with 4505 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ).

The place is seven kilometers from Figeac on the border with the Lot department .
history
While Capdenac-le-Haut belongs to the Lot department , Capdenac-Gare belongs to the Aveyron department. Capdenac-Gare grew out of an old oppidum . The Capdenac train station provided a good economic basis in the rural region.
The castle has been owned by the Empare family since the 15th century. In 1622 there was a battle for the place. The lord of the castle received praise from Ludwig XIII for his participation . The castle, originally from the 14th century, which was rebuilt in 1762, was sold during the revolution. She is the namesake of the hamlet of Saint-Julien-d'Empare , which belongs to the municipality. The castle originally had four corner towers, three still exist today. The castle, which has been privately owned since 1795, has been restored since 1970. It has been a monument since November 10, 1977 .
