Rieupeyroux ( Occitan : Riupeirós ) is a French commune with 1,974 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Aveyron et Tarn (until 2015: canton of Rieupeyroux ). The inhabitants are called Rieupeyrousain .
geography
Rieupeyroux is located on a ridge in the southern part of the Massif Central . Rieupeyroux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Recoules-Prévinquières in the north, Colombiès in the northeast, Castanet in the east, Pradinas in the southeast, La Salvetat-Peyralès in the south and southwest, La Capelle-Bleys in the west, Le Bas-Ségala with La Bastide-l ' Évêque in the west and northwest and Compolibat in the northwest.
The former route nationale 111 (today D911) and the former route nationale 605 (today D905) lead through the municipality .
