Monteils ( Occitan Montelhs ) is a French commune with 542 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Aveyron et Tarn (until 2015 Najac ). The inhabitants are called Monteillois .

geography

Monteils is about 49 kilometers west-southwest of Rodez on the Aveyron . Monteils is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Rouquette in the north and north-west, Sanvensa in the east and north-east, La Fouillade in the south-east, Najac in the south and Castanet in the south and south-west.
