It rises near Sévérac-le-Château in the west of the Causse de Sauveterre , flows in an east-west direction parallel to the Lot running north and the Tarn running south, and after a distance of 291 kilometers it flows into the municipal border of Villemade and Lafrançaise on the right Tributary in the Tarn .
