Foissac ( identical in Occitan ) is a French commune with 476 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Lot et Montbazinois (until 2015 Capdenac-Gare ). The inhabitants are called Foissacois .

geography

Foissac is about 55 kilometers west-northwest of Rodez . Foissac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gelles in the north and east, Villeneuve in the south, Montsalès in the south and south-west and Balaguier-d'Olt in the west and north-west.
