Sonnac ( identical in Occitan ) is a French commune with 518 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-de-Rouergue and the canton of Lot et Montbazinois (until 2015 Capdenac-Gare ). The inhabitants are called Sonnacois .

geography

Sonnac located about 49 km west-northwest of Rodez . Sonnac is surrounded by the neighboring communities Asprières in the north and east, Peyrusse-le-Roc in the east and south-east, Naussac in the south and south-west and Capdenac-Gare in the west and north-west.
