Viviez is a French commune with 1,274 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . Viviez belongs to the arrondissement Villefranche-de-Rouergue and is part of the canton Lot et Dourdou (until 2015: canton Aubin ). The inhabitants are called Viviézois .
geography
Viviez is located about 36 kilometers northwest of Rodez on the Enne River , into which the Riou Viou flows and forms the Rou Mort with it. Viviez is surrounded by the neighboring communities Boisse-Penchot in the north, Decazeville in the east, Aubin in the south and Les Albres in the south.

Between 1975 and 1978 the municipality was connected to the neighboring municipality of Les Albres.
