The Erdbach outlet is a strong karst spring near Erdbach in Hesse . It is the re-emergence of the Erdbach seeping into the Kleingrubenloch near Breitscheid .
location
The Erdbach outlet is located on the slope at an altitude of around 380 m above sea level. NHN , approx. 0.5 kilometers (as the crow flies) southwest of Erdbach, 1.5 kilometers east of Breitscheid and 2 kilometers northwest of Schönbach .
description
After seeping away , the Erdbach flows through the extensive Erdbach cave system , where it receives some underground tributaries. Its water volume doubles in the course of the cave system from approx. 40 to 80 liters per second at the re-exit near the clubhouse of the Erdbach rifle club. A flow rate of 131 l / s was measured at peak times. In a small ravine, which can be crossed over a metal bridge, the water of the Erdbach gushes out from under a rock ledge. From there it flows as a brook about 1.5 meters wide and about 10 cm deep over stone blocks towards the entrance to Erdbach. In the event of flooding, the water also rises from a cavity in the ground at a second exit point at the nearby quarry.
