geography
Spring streams
Mühlbach
The Mühlbach is the seven kilometers long left source stream of the Amdorfbach . It is often seen as its upper reaches.
It arises at an altitude of about 590 m above sea level. NHN from several spring branches in a meadow southwest of the Driedorf district of Heisterberg on the Westerwald basalt plateau .
First it flows in an easterly direction, crosses under the K 83 ( Ambachstrasse ) and then runs along the northern edge of the designated nature reserve Bermershube near Heisterberg . It then crosses Gusternhainerweg and shortly afterwards feeds the Heisterberger Weiher . His path continues eastwards, first through the mixed forest in Scheid and then through the meadow in Im sweet Placken . It now crosses the L 304 , then changes its direction to the north-northeast and then flows through a small coniferous forest. At the northern edge of the forest, a body of water called Amdorfbach (GKZ 2584721918) flows into it. The Mühlbach now flows through a strip of green, which is bordered on both sides by coniferous forest, towards the northeast.
It now reaches the Herborn district of Schönbach and unites at the exit of the village at an altitude of about 338 m above sea level. NHN with the Bierbach coming from the southwest to the Amdorfbach .
Bierbach
→ Main article: Bierbach
The Bierbach is the two and a half kilometers long right source stream of the Amdorfbach . It is often seen as its tributary.
course
Shortly afterwards, an arm splits off the merged stream, the water of which used to drive the Sauermühle . The stream first flows through grassland towards the north-northeast, then crosses under the K 69 ( Schönbacher Hauptstrasse ) and then runs northeastward on the northern edge of a mixed forest, first at the foot of the Wolfberg and then along the Rammelsheck . It crosses the K 61 , then passes Amdorf and then flows right past the Singelberg ( 366.8 m above sea level ). At Höhenberg it is fed by the Erdbach on its left side . The Amdorfbach now flows northwards along the eastern edge of a small coniferous forest, on the other side its bank borders on a meadow. Shortly before he reaches Uckersdorf , another district of Herborn, the Medenbach flows towards him from the left . The Amdorfbach runs along the southern edge of the village, then runs for about six hundred meters accompanied by the L 3042 ( Burgerstrasse ) through meadows, before Donsbach and Diehlbach strengthen it from the left in quick succession . Its course now leads eastwards. It crosses under the E 40 / E 41 , moves southeast through a green zone, whereupon the Windelbach flows in from the right .
It now reaches the outskirts of Herborn- Burg and finally flows south of the Burg Nord railway station at an altitude of about 214 m above sea level. NHN from the right into the dill .
Its 15.9 km long run with the Mühlbach ends about 376 meters below the source of the Mühlbach, so it has an average bed gradient of about 24 ‰.
