Garrett John Hedlund (born September 3, 1984 in Roseau , Minnesota ) is an American actor .

biography

When he was six years old, he moved with his parents, Kristine and Robert, and two older siblings, Nathaniel and Amanda, from their farm in Minnesota to Scottsdale , Arizona . Hedlund went to high school there , worked on the wrestling and football teams, and took private acting lessons in his spare time. Before his film career, he worked as a model and was discovered by a talent scout.

He made his feature film debut in The Original Donut Chronicles (which was never released), followed immediately by the US production Troy (Patroclus), whereupon he was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for his achievements . He then starred in the films Friday Night Lights (Don Billingsley), Four Brothers (Jack Mercer, alongside Mark Wahlberg ), Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders (Murtagh), Georgia's Law (Harlan Wilson) and Death Sentence (Billy Darley ) With.

Garrett Hedlund was also cast by Disney to star in Tron: Legacy , the sequel to the 1982 classic Tron , directed by Joseph Kosinski . The film opened in German cinemas on January 27, 2011.

For the soundtrack of the film Country Strong (2010), in which he played Beau Hutton, he recorded some songs.

On November 22, 2013, the band Kings of Leon released the music video for their single Beautiful War from their album Mechanical Bull, in which Hedlund plays.

From 2012 to 2016 he was in a relationship with his On the Road colleague Kirsten Dunst . Hedlund has been dating actress Emma Roberts since March 2019 .
