A recipe for love (Original title: Little Italy ) is an American - Canadian romantic comedy with Emma Roberts and Hayden Christensen in the leading roles.

The young cook Nikki Angioli has to go back to her old home, Little Italy . Her parents own a prosperous pizzeria there. During her visit, Nikki meets Leo, a childhood friend. The two quickly realize that they still have feelings for each other, but their two families are falling out, which endangers their love. Nikki and Leo secretly hide their love, but the two of them have no idea that they are not the only family members who keep a secret to themselves.

Emma Roberts plays Nikki Angioli and Hayden Christensen plays her boyfriend Leo Campoli. Gary Basaraba took on the role of Vince Campoli, Leo's father, and Alyssa Milano that of Dora. Other cast members include Adam Ferrara , Linda Kash , Danny Aiello , Andrea Martin and Jane Seymour .

Filming and publishing

The shooting took place in June 2017. Thom Best acted as cameraman.

A first trailer was presented in June 2018. The film was released in US cinemas on September 21, 2018. A German-language release on DVD and Blu-ray took place on March 25, 2019.

The film was received mostly negatively. At Metacritic it received a Metascore of 28/100 based on 4 reviews, at Rotten Tomatoes 20 percent of the 15 reviews were positive.
