Ed Westwick
Edward "Ed" Westwick (born June 27, 1987 in Stevenage , Hertfordshire , Great Britain ) is a British actor and musician , who is best known for his role as Charles "Chuck" Bass in Gossip Girl .
Life
Westwick is the son of a school psychologist and a university lecturer. He has two older brothers. He grew up in Stevenage and completed his acting training at the National Youth Theater in London. Ed Westwick began his acting career in 2006 with an appearance on an episode of the Doctors series . He then made a guest appearance on the television series Casualty , followed by a role in the action film Children of Men . Also in 2006 he starred in the drama Breaking and Entering . In 2007 he took on a role in The Son of Rambow .
Westwick is one of the main characters in the Gossip Girl series . In 2008 he received a Teen Choice Award in the “Choice TV Villain” category for his role. He was dating his colleague Jessica Szohr , who plays Vanessa Abrams in Gossip Girl .
In addition to acting, Westwick fronted indie rock band The Filthy Youth , which consisted of Benjamin Lewis Allingham, Jimmy Wright, Mitch Cox, and John Vooght.
