He was then seen regularly in films, most of which were tailored to a younger audience. With the successes Der Volltreffer (1985) and Teen Lover (1989), Cusack finally became a teenage star.

In addition to the cinema productions, Cusack was involved in other projects. He has both produced and directed various shows for the Chicago theater group "The New Criminals", which he founded in 1988. He has already acted in six films with his good friend Tim Robbins . He himself claims to have been satisfied with his previous projects. However, he has not yet been able to play the ultimate role. Cusack presented his film The Raven at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) at the McCormick Place Convention Center on April 15, 2012 . Since then, films that were produced directly for the video market have increasingly followed, including some action productions. His work includes more than 80 productions.
