action

40-year-old preschool teacher Sarah Nolan recently divorced. All of her relatives are now trying to pair her with men. Her sister Carol posts an online personal ad on Sarah's behalf . A man who describes himself as 50 years old answers. At the meeting, it turns out that it is her 71-year-old father Bill, who cheated a little on the description. The widower has also decided to look for a new acquaintance via the Internet. Sarah then meets with a lawyer who thinks she is too old, a depressed man who cries all the time, and a marshal who would like to see her handcuffed.

The divorced boat builder Jake Anderson also meets with Sarah. He appears at the meeting in the park with a borrowed dog and apologizes by stating that the ad only stipulates that you love dogs - not that you own one yourself. It turns out that the dog that Sarah brought with her does not belong to her either, but to her brother.

Sarah's father Bill has now made a new friend: Dolly, who later also befriends Sarah. Dolly posts numerous ads on the Internet with multiple profiles in which she slips into different personalities. One day, one of Dolly's Internet acquaintances turns up: a teenager who, despite her age, wants the 61-year-old, whom he thought was 16 because of a number spinner, as his new girlfriend, because he has found a soulmate. Dolly calls Sarah for help and they manage to send the 15-year-old, who pretended to be 17, back home.

Sarah and Jake meet for dinner at the second meeting. They then want to have sex, but find that neither of them has a condom ready. They wander through town looking for condoms, and when they finally find a condom store, Sarah has lost interest in sex.

One evening Jake sees Bob kissing Sarah. Disappointed, Jake says goodbye to her and they don't meet again. Sarah has a brief affair with Bob, who is the father of one of her preschoolers. But she quickly realizes that he is not the right person and ends the affair. By chance, Sarah's father Bill runs into Jake while he is admiring the boat that Jake is taking for a trip on the lake. Jake tells him that he was heartbroken by a woman he was very fond of. Sarah finds out about the meeting and understands that she was meant by it. She immediately sets off for the lake. Since Jake is already rowing on the lake, she lets a rowing team bring her close to him. She jumps into the water and swims to him. Sarah and Jake become a couple.
