Dermot Mulroney (born October 31, 1963 in Alexandria , Virginia ) is an American actor . Mulroney first directed the film Love, Wedding, Marriage in 2011.

Life

Mulroney's father is a law professor at Villanova University . Dermot Mulroney attended Maury Elementary School in Alexandria , George Washington High School, and TC Williams High School, graduating in 1981. As a schoolboy he played the cello in the youth orchestra and appeared in an amateur theater company in his city. Until 1985 he studied at Northwestern University .

Mulroney has played roles in numerous entertainment films such as Bad Girls , Defenseless - Shadows Over Carolina , My Best Friend's Wedding , Investigating Sex , About Schmidt, and The Stone Family - Verlobenhaben! . In 2012 he stood for The Gray and the mystery drama horror film The Rambler in front of the camera.

He was married to actress Catherine Keener from 1990 to December 2007 ; from marriage there is a son. He now has two children with his new partner.
