action

In 2019, during a threat from the Islamic State , a street preacher appears in Damascus , whose new, rapidly growing following calls him al-Masih ( Messiah ). He works some miracles of Jesus in the Middle East and the United States . Powerful secret services are becoming suspicious: Aviram Dahan from Schin Bet and CIA agent Eva Geller are closely following the case. After leading his followers from Syria to the Israeli border, he appears in Texas and even reaches the US President . In the Middle East, while an apostate among his divided supporters commits a terrorist attack, in the States revelations about his true identity and past shake belief in him. The season ends with the media reporting that the alleged messiah is obviously a fraud. His followers remain confused. Meanwhile, Aviram kidnaps al-Masih from the USA in a private jet bound for Israel . The plane crashes on the way - whether or not shot down by the US secret service remains unclear. Aviram wakes up in the middle of a poppy flower meadow, where a local boy tells him that al-Masih, who also survived, had just brought him back to life by the laying on of hands.

1 Who has ears to hear He That Hath An Ear James McTeigue Michael Petroni
During a threat from the Islamic State , a street preacher appears in Damascus when a sandstorm rages for many days, so that the IS withdraws again, whereas the man continued to preach throughout the storm. He leads his new following, who call him al-Masih (Messiah), to the Golan Heights on the Israeli border and crosses it. He is arrested by the Israeli Border Guard and questioned by Aviram Dahan. Al-Masih does not reveal any information about himself, but tells Dahan about his past, which al-Masih should not know. Dahan, agitated, deletes the recordings of the interview and leaves the room. When he returns later, Al-Masih has disappeared.
2 Quake tremor James McTeigue Michael Petroni & Bruce Marshall Romans
While al-Masih's supporters at the border endure without him, CIA agent Eva Geller comes to the Israeli authorities to help them find al-Masih. He appears at the al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and preaches there. When the police appear, a shot is fired and a boy appears to be dead. Al-Masih places his hand on him, removes the bullet and the boy is fine again. While those present marvel at this as a miracle, al-Masih disappears.
3 God's fingers The Finger Of God James McTeigue Amy Louise Johnson & Kelly Wiles
When a tornado raged in the small town of Dilley in Texas , al-Masih appeared there and saved Rebecca, the daughter of the priest Felix Iguero. After the storm, only his church remains, from which he is arrested by federal agent Will Mathers for illegally crossing the border. Felix hires a lawyer from the American Civil Liberties Union for him . Eva Geller arrives in Texas to question al-Masih, which is forbidden by his lawyer. At the Golan Heights Dahan kidnaps the young Jibril Medina for questioning with cruel methods, but cannot break his faith and confidence in al-Masih.
4th process Trial James McTeigue Michael Brandon Guercio
Eva Geller, whose pregnancy failed, can speak to al-Masih, but again he turns the situation around and reveals knowledge about her. Geller learns from her superiors that Israel is demanding an extradition of al-Masih, and therefore tries to convince his lawyer to stop fighting his arrest in order to keep him out of Israel. During the trial, his lawyer argues that he is being religiously discriminated against in his home country; when asked about his religion, however, he replies that he “goes with all people”. The judge surprisingly grants him the right to asylum the next day and al-Masih drives back with Felix as a free man.
5 Because they see and yet they do not see So That Seeing They May Not See Kate Woods Emily Silver
In the Golan Heights, the badly injured Jibril is cared for by his friend Samir, who is amazed at the unshakable faith of his. In Dilley a tent city of al-Masihs supporters, also from other states, has formed around the church. For example, a mother came with her daughter from Denver , Colorado , who had cancer . Aviram Dahan also travels there, but he cannot bring himself to shoot al-Masih while pointing the gun at him. Al-Masih leaves because he hears a whining dog in the ruins of the city. Its owners have just found him and al-Masih takes the gun and the task of redeeming the dog from them. Eva Geller, who saw the confrontation between Dahan and al-Masih on camera, was alarmed by the gunshot and ran to them, only to be surprised to see both of them alive.
6th We won't all fall asleep We Will Not All Sleep Kate Woods Michael Petroni & Michael Bond
Al-Masih now assigns Felix Iguero the task of leading and deciding where to go next. This initially leads the car convoy through some states without a specific destination. On the way, Geller learns from an informant al-Masih's real name, Payam Golshiri, and that this may have been inspired by the terrorist Oscar Wallace to destroy the social order. A photo posted by his daughter of al-Masih suggests that he wants to go to Washington, DC . There al-Masih preaches at the Lincoln Memorial and walks across the water of the reflection pool . Jibril, who has visions of his mother and of al-Masih, strips completely naked and goes to the border, where a rifle is first pointed at his chest, but he is then let through.
7th It happened as it was said It Came To Pass As It Was Spoken Kate Woods Eoghan O'Donnell
His following in the Middle East is divided: Samir moves to the Syrian Desert with a renegade group who believe al-Masih is the false messiah , while Jibril is celebrated as a liberator in Ramallah . In Washington, White House Chief of Staff Cameron Collier is calling for more material from the CIA against al-Masih. He himself sends a prostitute to him who is supposed to seduce him, which does not succeed. Eva Geller, meanwhile, learns from her informant about Payam Golshiri's brother, who says that they were raised by their uncle, a magician.
8th Force majeure Force majeure Kate Woods Eoghan O'Donnell
The President of the United States , a devout Mormon , arranges a secret meeting with al-Masih, at which he demands the withdrawal of all American troops from around the world, which is refused. Although the president wanted to keep the meeting a secret, al-Masih revealed it to reporters. Felix Iguero is furious because he was not informed and is less and less involved by al-Masih, but his daughter, with whom al-Masih often secretly met, tells him that he did not come to them because of him, but because of them. Felix also learns that his wife Anna helped their daughter get an abortion , which goes against his faith.
9 God is greater God is greater James McTeigue Bruce Marshall Romans
Jibril, who cannot read, is taught to make a speech by heart asking that whoever recognizes Israel as a state should also recognize Palestine . Samir, in turn, is trained in a terrorist group. Felix arranges with his father-in-law Beau Bridges, a television preacher , that al-Masih should appear on his program. But al-Masih only agrees if Rebecca comes along. Shortly before his performance, however, he leaves the building and instead Rebecca speaks on stage until she has an epileptic fit . While Jibril is giving his speech in a mosque, Samir arrives with an explosive vest that is activated. Dahan kidnapped al-Masih and put him on a plane.
10 The wages of sin The Wages Of Sin James McTeigue Michael Petroni
The chief of staff Collier lets the information about Payam Golshiri leak through the CNN reporter Miriam Keneally, whereby many turn away from the belief in him. The CIA is tracking the path of the plane in which al-Masih and Dahan are sitting when it gets into turbulence and crashes. Dahan wakes up in a poppy field in the desert, awakened by a shepherd boy who claims that al-Masih resurrected Dahan and other men from the plane.
