Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23, 1976 in Winthrop , Iowa ) is an American actress , film producer and former model of German - Irish descent .

life and career

Michelle Monaghan first studied journalism in Chicago and made a living as a model. Her success in this profession was so great that she gave up studying for it.

In 2000, Monaghan made her acting debut in the television series Rawley High - The First Semester .
