Atheer nobility
Atheer Adel (born June 24, 1985 in Baghdad , Iraq ) is a German actor and musician of Iraqi descent. He gained international fame primarily through his role as Numan in the US television series Homeland , in which he was seen in the fifth season in 2015.
life and career
Atheer Adel came to Germany with his family from the Iraqi capital Baghdad as a child. Adel, who speaks fluent English and Arabic as well as German and has basic knowledge of Spanish , came to the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin at an advanced age . During his studies he played in the Kampnagel Hamburg and BAT Berlin in the play Helden staged by Ewald Palmetshofer and directed by the young director Roscha A. Säidow . In the same year he was for his commitment to heroes with the 10,000 € doped Vontobel Prize awarded. He graduated from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in 2012 with a diploma and in the same year was employed in the one-act Salome at the Frankfurt Theater, directed by Günter Krämer, in the role of Jochanaan . Also in 2012 he was booked for the television film Tatort: Who breaks the silence , which at that time was still known in the law under the working titles Greetings from Manchuria and Thieves . At the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016 he was nominated together with eleven other actors from Homeland for a Screen Actors Guild Award in the category " Screen Actors Guild Award / Best Acting Ensemble in a TV Series - Drama ".
In addition to acting, Adel also appears as a musician, above all as a singer. He published various singles on iTunes and Youtube . As a musician he plays drums, guitar and bass. He also practices various martial arts such as Muay Thai or submission wrestling .
