action

First Lieutenant Erling Riiser serves in a special unit of the Norwegian Army in Afghanistan. The asymmetrical warfare , in which it is almost indistinguishable between enemies and civilians, not only demands personal sacrifices on all sides, but also casts doubt on the purpose of the operation. During an operation, Riiser touches an Afghan woman and unintentionally tears her headscarf off her head. The wife's husband feels hurt in his honor and henceforth makes her life hell. Riiser's unit can later free the abused woman and take her to Norway for medical care. Arrived there, Riiser received a mysterious message a day after his arrival, pointing to the murder of this woman. Riiser can thwart the murder, but then gets caught up in an opaque vortex of politics and morality in which the boundaries are blurred.

production

The series is based on an idea by director Per-Olav Sørensen , who wanted to do something about the involvement of Norwegian soldiers in Afghanistan. Mette Marit Bøstad and Stephen Uhlander helped write the script. The € 7.9 million series was shot in Oslo (ten weeks), Prague (three weeks) and Morocco (four weeks)
