IC 5180 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble-type E2 in the constellation Lizard at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 277 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years across.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7227 and NGC 7228 .

The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on September 21, 1890 .
