IC 5180 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble-type E2 in the constellation Lizard at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 277 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7227 and NGC 7228 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on September 21, 1890 .
