IC 5168 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Piscis Austrinus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 219 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 85,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 7214 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on August 31, 1897 .
