IC 5186 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Crane in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 220 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 5179 and IC 5199 .

The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on July 19, 1897 .
