IC 5191 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Lizard in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 303 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7240 , NGC 7242 , IC 1441 , IC 5192 .
The object was discovered by Edward Emerson Barnard on December 5, 1888 .
