IC 1441 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Lizard in the northern sky . It is an estimated 243 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7240 , NGC 7242 , IC 5191 , IC 5192 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on September 25, 1889 .
