IC 1423 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SbB in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 374 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 110,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 1418 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on October 9, 1891 .
