IC 1435 is an active spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 242 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7220 and IC 5178 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 25, 1892 .
