IC 1456 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 345 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on September 23, 1891 by Sherbourne Wesley Burnham .
