IC 5149 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Piscis Austrinus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 245 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 8, 1897 .
