NGC 7130 = IC 5135 is an active spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Piscis Austrinus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 218 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7135 and IC 5131 .
The Type IIn supernova SN 2010bt was observed here.
The object was discovered on September 25, 1834 by John Herschel with his 18.7 inch reflector telescope and later included in his New General Catalog by Johan Dreyer . This object was observed by Lewis A. Swift on September 17, 1897 and cataloged as IC 5135 .
