IC 5128 is a lenticular galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation crane in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 212 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
The Type Ib supernova SN 2014bt was observed in this galaxy .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on July 24, 1897 .
